New Synnd Facebook Page

Synnd now has a new Facebook page and I am encouraging all of you to “LIKE” it as soon as you can.  I’m quite sure that because of synnd’s popularity, it will rapidly become a high traffic FB page.  Why not get in on the conversation early adding your own synnd experience to the mix.

In the image above, you can see how quick I received a response.  That’s impressive.  If you already have a Facebook Page, are you getting much traffic to it?

I like what Jennifer Fong has to say about getting traffic to your facebook page.  It’s the same advice we’ve learned to follow using synnd.  Here’s Fong’s advice…

“Once you set up your Facebook Page, your next big job is to get people to come and Like your Page. How do you do that?

Here are some tips:

1. Write great, engaging content. The more interesting and engaging your content is, the more people will interact with it. The more they interact with it, the more likely it is to show up in the News Feed. The more it shows up, the more likely others will see that their friends Like your Page.

2. Add a Welcome tab. People are 47% more likely to Like a Page if it has a Welcome Tab. An effective Welcome tab tells people what the Page is about, and the benefits of Liking the Page. It also encourages people to hit the Like button. You can get a free Welcome tab at Pagemodo.

3. Occasionally tag your Page from your Profile, inviting folks who are interested in learning more about the topic you are sharing about to come and Like your Page. This lets your current friend list know you have a Page without beating them over the head with business spam. (To tag your Page, simply type the @ sign, and then begin typing the name of your Page. Once your Page pops up, select it. It will become a clickable link in your status update.)

4. Invite every customer you work with to Like your Page. This is the group you’re most interested in reaching. Let them know the benefits of liking your Page.

5. Ask your current fans to share your Page with their friends if they find your Page valuable. Do this through occasional status updates on your Page such as, “If you find the content on this Page valuable, won’t you tell your friends about this Page? Just share this link in your status update: http://facebook.com/jenfongspeaks (Fill in your Facebook URL here.) Thank you!”

6. Once you get 25 folks who Like your Page, add your Facebook Page URL to your business cards. Point it out to everyone you give your card to, and invite them to come check out your Page.

7. Comment on other Pages as your Page to drive interest in your Page.

8. Use the “Suggest to Friends” link on your Page. (Warning, this only works occasionally.)

9. Swap Likes with other Page owners. To begin the momentum, form a collective. Get a group together who will all “Like” each others’ Pages. This will help you get to your 25, so you can get a custom Facebook URL.

10. Find opportunities to share your Page on other Pages, when invited. For example, I will occasionally invite people to share their Page links on my Facebook Page. I know other Pages do this as well. Look for these opportunities, and take advantage. (But don’t share your Page if you haven’t been invited. That’s spam.)”Reference: http://www.jenfongspeaks.com

Social media marketing was once considered just a fad not too long ago by marketing professionals all over the world.  Now, if corporations do not have a Facebook page and Twitter account, it’s the exception, not the rule.

In my super market recently the recurring announcement overhead wasn’t the chicken breasts now on sale for the low price of whatever.  No – the repeated announcement was various coupons I could get by visiting Reaser’s Facebook page.

So what will be “routinesocial media marketing of next year?  I would bet that by the summer of 2011, best practice will be totally different than now.

And it’s way too mind boggling to think of what social media marketing will be like in 2015.  What will the kids who are 10 now know about the web when they are 15?  In 5 years, will pre-school be teaching reading, writing and web-metic?

If your company or your business on the web does not have enough “social buzz” to give you clout with the search engines, then you are behind.  It means you need to ramp up social media marketing to the extent that real people bookmark your content, they make comments on your blog and they link to your website from theirs.  That’s social buzz and what it does is speak louder to search engines than technical SEO – way louder.

In other words, with enough social buzz going on about your business, your web content becomes an authority site in Google’s eyes faster because of social media optimization.

Social media marketing with Facebook ads could be better than Google Adwords.  One reason is because of the super-detailed, super-targeted features inside Facebook that allow you to advertise to your specific target audience.

It can be a much more scientific way to get in front of your target market with Facebook pay per click (PPC) than it is with Google Adwords PPC advertising.  If you do it right, the only clicks you pay for are those that generate leads and sales.  In other words, the clicks would be free.

The picture on the right is my very first pay per click ad that I ran on Facebook.

It links to the synnd landing page designed for fast opt-in. It’s short with only an opt-in box and a video. I found out it’s best not to do anything fancy with the landing page you send people to while they are on FB. Remember, they are probably trying to do social media marketing the hard way – which takes forever. They will not want to read a long sales letter.

If you are an affiliate marketer with Charles Heflin’s SEO 2020, then you have in your back office this very same landing page that I used. It works like a charm on FB. As an affiliate marketer with Social Media Science you have several landing pages to promote. I recommend only using the shorter ones on social media sites like FB and on forums, etc.

When creating this ad on Facebook, I chose “internet marketing” as the keyword.

That’s a fairly small targeted niche on Facebook but it’s growing by leaps and bounds.

If I had picked the keyword “social media marketing” I think the niche would be even bigger.  We’ll see.   Stay tuned because that will be my next test to see if my ad performs better using the keyword, “social media marketing.”

Facebook will show your ad to people who have indicated an interest that relates to the keyword you choose.

Facebook profiles are flagged inside the data base of Facebook.  People who obviously relate to “internet marketing” are the people who can see my ad right now.  If you are one of them, Facebook knows all about you, based on what you say, who your friends are, etc.

You probably know as affiliate marketers, Google Adwords used to allow us to link directly to our affiliate‘s landing pages.  Now they won’t.

But who cares now that I’m getting tons of traffic as a Facebook advertiser! I’m thrilled with how fast I got to 10,000+ impressions. Stay tuned – I’ll let you know how well this ad converts to leads and sales.

Every lead you generate from the synnd landing page gives you is a lead that you can add to your list.  If they sign up to use the software and join the synnd network, then you’ve just made a sale.

I am trying to generate leads and synnd sales from Facebook advertising.  I just began my campaign 5 days ago.  Here are my results so far…synnd link trackingUnder the “Ad” column, the only ad or article that actually has people clicking on it more than once or twice is the second one labeled “FB ad” and this blog.  If you add up the “wpsynndit”  hits there are 6 in the last 5 days.  Awesome 🙂

Generate Leads And Sales As An Affliliate Marketer With Social Media Science PART ONE

BOO! Happy Friday the 13th!  I’m writing today as I begin a series on affiliate marketing.  I will be very specific about how I generate leads AND SALES as an affiliate marketer.  I’ll also be very specific about how you can generate leads for your business as an affiliate marketer, specifically with Social Media Science, but I’m warning you now… it might get a l i t t l e   s c a r y!

In this series, I’ll show you how I generate leads in just a few simple steps.

But first let synndme show you my last two weeks of statistics as an affiliate marketer with Social Media Science.  Actually, these are my stats for the last 13 days…  Since today is Friday the 13th, the screen shot below might look a little Boo! Scary!

Statistics in school scared me too, once upon a time.  But your stats as an affiliate marketer are extremely important so don’t be scared 🙂

You might be quite familiar with tracking your marketing efforts but if not and if this screen shot below does look a little scary with so many columns, etc.  please do NOT shy away from learning how to set this up.  I’ll help you.

The tracking tool inside Social Media Science in the affiliate marketing back office is amazing.  And it is worth a ton.  It’s a golden tool that Charles Heflin and his team have put together so that as an affiliate marketer, you can track what’s working in your marketing efforts and what’s not.

Looking at the first column, the codes for specific landing pages are listed.  For example, here’s what 01 looks like, using my affiliate link…

I have used the keyword phrase, Social Media Science, as the “anchor text” for my hyperlink above and linked it to the 01 landing page (a sales letter) that you also have if you are an affiliate marketer with Social Media Science.

So, in the screen shot above, we can take all the raw data from my last 13 days of marketing and analyze it.

And of course we don’t ever stop therepdsa2.

The next step after looking at results and trying to figure out what’s going on is to then do something different.

Doing something different over the next two weeks will either give me better results or worse, but at least I’ll know what’s working and what’s not.

The idea is NOT to make a huge change.  Just some little change that will hopefully lead to a small incremental improvement.  If I make tons of changes, I won’t know what made the difference.

It’s what some researchers call the PDSA cycle.  Here’s how it works…

PLAN

Looking at the link tracking stats above,  I have 3 links out there in cyberspace that are coded with  o1 – meaning the 01 landing page was used in my marketing.  I had to plan that – which landing pages to use and where to put them.

You can see that the first 01 landing page, does not have a code.  It says no ad under ‘redirect’ which means, for one thing, I didn’t plan well.  I have no idea where that lead capture page is because I didn’t assign a tracking code to it.  Poor planning.

DO

But the second one coded o1 is an example of much better planning because I did set it up for tracking.  Good example of “DO” in the PDSA cycle and good example of actually having a PLAN.

I labeled the tracking link “anyemail”stats and use that link inside emails to take the reader to the 01 landing page.

Stay with me. Tracking isn’t scary. Really.

It’s actually fun.  Because I now know that 9 people clicked on the link (9 Hits) See the figure to the right, 4th row down.  And I know they are people on my list.

That’s the good news.

The bad news is that no one opted in – they didn’t fill out the form.    See the big fat zero under Opt-Ins for the code (redirect) 01 inside “anyemail.”

STUDY

As I study the results of the last 13 days, I see that I got the most hits from my blog, this one, tracking code ‘wpsynndit’ and I got the most sales here too. (orders and subscriptions)  Also, you can see that some landing pages here at my blog do a whole lot better than others.

See how landing pages 01 and 02 had more traffic (Hits) than the others.  Plus that’s also where I generated 2 of my 5 leads (opt ins) – right here at my blog.  The other 3 leads came from a different blog, a squidoo lens and who knows where I got the other one because I didn’t track it.  (no ad)

ACT

So, now after a little study it’s time to ACT on my findings – this post is a part of my action plan.  Notice the cycle?  It never ends.  It’s the way you generate more and more leads by having a PLAN before you DO anything in your marketing, then  STUDY the results, then ACT on those findings, according to you guessed it, another action PLAN.
